CHEP has been certified as a 2026 Global Top Employer, marking the fourth consecutive year the organisation has achieved this global recognition from the Top Employers Institute. CHEP is a global leader in supply chain solutions, powered by its share, repair and reuse network of connected pallets, crates and containers.

CHEP is one of only 17 companies worldwide to receive Global Top Employer certification in 2026, underscoring the strength and consistency of its people practices across its global operations. In addition to the global accolade, CHEP retained Top Employer status across four regions (Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America) and 26 countries, together representing 97% of its global workforce.
In South Africa, CHEP has now been recognised as a Top Employer for a ninth consecutive year, while the business has retained Top Employer Africa status for eight years successively. These achievements reflect the organisation’s sustained investment in leadership capability, employee wellbeing and inclusive workplace practices both locally and regionally.
The certification is awarded following an independent assessment by the Top Employers Institute through its HR Best Practices Survey. The survey evaluates organisations across six domains and 20 topics, including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing.
In 2026, CHEP achieved its highest scores in performance, leadership, work environment, sustainability, ethics and integrity, demonstrating that these practices are deeply embedded and consistently applied across all certified markets. The organisation also showed continued progress in leadership development, diversity, equity and inclusion, rewards and recognition and onboarding.
Alisdair Sinclair, Vice President, CHEP Sub-Saharan Africa, said: “This recognition reflects the consistency of our people first approach over time. We are deliberate about building a culture grounded in strong leadership, integrity and accountability, where our people feel supported to grow and perform. In an increasingly complex operating environment, this focus on our people is fundamental to our resilience and long-term sustainable success.”
Top Employers Institute CEO Adrian Seligman said: “CHEP has demonstrated a rare ability to align its people strategy globally while ensuring meaningful, locally relevant experiences for employees in every certified market – a hallmark of organisations that deliver strong business performance, talent mobility, and workforce resilience. This achievement places CHEP among a select group of employers setting the benchmark for people strategy internationally. We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with them as they inspire excellence across the global HR community.”
The company’s continued recognition as a Top Employer reflects its commitment to creating workplaces that enable adaptability, engagement and sustainable performance. In South Africa, this focus has supported the development of skilled, resilient teams who are equipped to deliver value for customers while contributing positively to the communities within which the business operates.
By embedding sustainability, ethics and circular thinking into both its business model and its people practices, CHEP continues to demonstrate that responsible leadership and strong organisational cultures go hand in hand.
