DP World has expanded its partnership with the Central Gauteng Lions to support the DP World Lions Women’s Blind Team, reinforcing its commitment to making cricket more accessible and inclusive in South Africa.

Announced at the DP World Wanderers Stadium, the expanded partnership will see DP World become Title Partner and front-of-shirt sponsor of the Women’s Blind Team, extending its support across the Lions’ Men’s, Women’s and Blind and Deaf Men’s teams. The partnership will support the team’s ongoing development, helping create greater opportunities for participation, progression and visibility in women’s blind cricket.
Esha Mansingh, Head: Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Africa at DP World said: “We have proudly been the Title Partner of the DP World Lions Women’s Team since 2020, and this partnership extension reflects our continued commitment to broadening access to cricket for women. By supporting the DP World Lions Women’s Blind Team, we are helping to create a more inclusive pathway for participation and development in the sport. We believe this partnership has the potential to make a meaningful impact by opening opportunities, advancing visibility, and inspiring more women and girls to see cricket as a space where they belong and can succeed.”
The partnership builds on DP World’s long-standing support of women’s cricket. In 2020, the DP World Lions Women’s Team became South Africa’s first professional women’s team, a milestone made possible through the organisation’s investment in the women’s game.
The impact of the investment is clear: Five DP World Lions Women’s players represented the Proteas at the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, with another five selected for this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The announcement comes ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where DP World will continue its support for the game as the ICC’s Global Logistics Partner. Through its Beyond Boundaries Initiative, DP World has committed to delivering 10 cricket kits for every 100 runs scored during the tournament.
